Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a 35-year-old Puna man wanted for driving recklessly and resisting an order to stop on Jan. 12.

Samson Perez, of the Ainaloa subdivision, is described as part Hawaiian, 6-foot-1, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Perez, also known as Samson Moses Kahumoku, has a teardrop tattoo under each eye and was last seen with wavy, shoulder-length hair.

He rides a red-and-white dirt bike type motorcycle.

Police arrested Perez last Sept. 20 after an incident on the Hilo Union Elementary School campus. Police said Perez attempted to sexually assault a girl in a campus bathroom, while a school official described the incident as “a stranger on campus” and “not an attempted abduction.” Perez was released pending further investigation and no charges have been filed, to date.
